WW2 German Zepplin Silver Platter - DZR

WW2 German Zeppelin Reederei platter. Engraved with Zepplin logo and words Deutsche Zeppelin - Reederei G.M.B.H.  Very worn condition with some minor indentations. Marker marked on back Wurtt.Metallw.fabrik Geislingen-Steige NS 35. Also, Cursive engraving of what appears to be Schwaghof Bad Salzuflen. Size appears to be approx 12 3/4 inches X 9 inches. Nice piece of Zepplin memorbilia.

Notes: The Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei (German Zeppelin Transport Company), typically was abbreviated DZR. During the mid 1930s, the DZR was a commercial airline based in Frankfurt that operated Zeppelins flying regular transatlantic flights, including the famous LZ 129 Hindenburg. Following the Hindenburg disaster in 1937 the DZR stopped transatlantic flights. However, it launched a new airship in 1938 and had another one order. Plans for more operations ended at the outbreak of World War 2 and the companies Zeppelins were scrapped in 1940.
