|U.S. WW2 99th Division Patch|
U.S. WW2 Army 99th "Checkerboard" division shoulder sleeve insignia. Appears to have been scrapbook removed.
The 99th Infantry Division was a unit of the U.S. Army in WW2. The 99th division played a strategic role in the Battle of the Bulge when its inexperienced troops held the northern German advance, refusing them access to the vital northern road network that led into Belgium. The 99th division saw overseas service in WW2 starting Sept 1944 and saw 151 days of combat in Europe. Campaigns included: Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe.
